Starting weaning can feel overwhelming at the best of times—but when you’re also navigating CMPI/CMPA (cow’s milk protein intolerance/allergy), it can feel even more stressful.
As a mum, I quickly realised there were certain products I genuinely reached for again and again during our weaning journey.
This isn’t a “buy everything” list—it’s simply the items that actually made life easier for us.

1. Bibado Coverall Bib
This was honestly one of my favourite weaning purchases.
Weaning is messy. Like… unbelievably messy.
A coverall bib saved endless outfit changes and made clean-up so much easier.
2. Suction Plates & Bowls
If your baby loves launching food onto the floor, these are a lifesaver.
Suction bowls helped keep meals where they were meant to be (most of the time 😅).
3. Baby Weaning Spoons
Soft spoons made self-feeding easier and gentler during those early stages.
Definitely one of the basics worth having.
4. Snack Pots
Perfect once you’re out and about.
Great for fruit, puffs, crackers, or safe allergy-friendly snacks.
5. Freezer Pots / Food Storage
Batch prepping baby food made life much easier, especially on busy days.
These were really useful for storing portions.
6. Sippy Cups / Straw Cups
Finding a cup your baby actually accepts can be trial and error, but having a good one makes a difference.
7. Silicone Placemats
Easy to wipe clean and helped contain some of the chaos.
Anything that reduces clean-up is a win.
8. Baby Food Prep Tools
Simple prep tools saved time when preparing fruit, veg, and quick meals.
Nothing fancy—just practical.
CMPI/CMPA Weaning Thoughts
Introducing solids when dealing with food sensitivities can feel nerve-wracking.
Every baby is different, and what worked for us may not work for everyone—but having practical tools definitely helped reduce some of the stress.
Final Thoughts
You absolutely do not need every baby gadget on the market.
But these are the items I genuinely found helpful during our weaning journey.
If you’re currently in the thick of weaning chaos… solidarity 💛
